Zendaya’s KC Undercover co-stars claim they “always knew” she was special. Before the Dune actress became one of the most sought-after young actors in Hollywood, she made her debut in the Disney series Casey Undercover. Trinity Stokes, who played Judy Cooper on the show, spoke to People magazine about remembering Zendaya as a young girl.
She claimed that she knew the actress was meant for great things in life because of her “goal-oriented nature”. She remembered Zendaya as a driven young girl who had “bright ideas” and a good understanding of the entertainment industry at the time.
“We are all very proud and excited to see him flourish like he has,” Stokes said. He praised the multitalented actress who once played his onscreen daughter. He brought up the fact how Zendaya knows the rhythms of comedic and dramatic acting, which are considered polar opposites in terms of technique.
He also recalled some episodes of the show in which the Euphoria star had mastered singing and dancing. Zendaya’s skills – being a part of a dance reality show and musical movies like The Greatest Showman – have become a well-known fact in Hollywood.
Tammy Townsend, who plays Kira Cooper on the show, recalled the Emmy-winning actress making changes to a script that was originally meant to be about a white family. His other former co-star Kamil McFadden admitted, “He’s destined to do this.”
She added, “I’ve learned to be able to open up to them and talk about things that are more nuanced than usual.” He recalled that Zendaya, who also served as co-producer, wanted to portray the black community in the most authentic way possible while respecting both viewpoints. “He has balanced it very well,” McFadden said.
