Farah Khan opens up on Hrithik Roshan being a part of ‘Main Hoon Na’
Hrithik Roshan made his acting debut in 2000 in his father Rakesh Roshan’s film Kaho Naa Pyar Hai opposite Ameesha Patel. Farah Khan choreographed the dance sequences for the film. This was the time when Khan saw Hrithik’s potential and thought he would become a big actor one day.
Speaking to Radio Nasha, the choreographer-filmmaker said that the casting for her 2004 film Main Hoon Na was a ‘musical chairs situation’. She said, “Initially Hrithik was supposed to do it because I was shooting for Kaho Naa Pyar Hai, and I saw him giving his first shot and I knew he was going to be a star. I went to Rakesh Roshan and told him this. You could understand immediately.”
Khan wanted the Fighter actor to play the role of Lucky, which was later played by Zayed Khan. Talking about this, the Om Shanti Om director said, “I told Hrithik that I have written a script and he will be the young boy.”
Hearing this, Hrithik got excited and asked Farah if Shah Rukh Khan would be willing to work with him. To this Farah replied, “Of course. That was it (the dynamic). And then, obviously, Kaho Naa Pyar Hai released, Hrithik became a big star, and the rest is history,” Farah said.
When Karan Johar talked about Shah Rukh Khan keeping distance from Hrithik Roshan
There were rumours that Shah Rukh Khan and Hrithik Roshan were not on good terms ever since the latter started giving back-to-back hits with his debut film Kaho Naa Pyar Hai.
Karan Johar wrote in his book that Shah Rukh Khan had become a little distant from him during the shooting of Kabhi Khushi Kabhie Gham, after which people started gossiping more about this. Kajol was Shah Rukh’s team. Talking about the work front, Hrithik will soon be seen in War 2 with NTR Jr.
