As Kim Kardashian stood among the A-list guests in Jeff Bezos and at the late June 2025, Lauren Sanchez’s grand Venice’s wedding, he was also entangled in a public legal battle in the United States.
Reality star and aspiring lawyer Ivan was responding to a case filed by a New York person named Ivan Cantu, who accuses a serious prestigious loss after Kardashian, who publicly posted her photo in place of Texas Death Row prisoner, which she was advocating in 2024.
The shared name, Ivan Cantu caused confusion, but the post of Kardashian, was seen by millions, tied the innocent person in the case of a capital murder. Legal filing was signed by Kardashian in Venice on 26 June, just one day before the Bezos Wedding Festival.
The misrepresentation exposes an emotional crisis lawsuit
According to court documents, Kardashian posted a series of Instagram stories in February 2024, focusing on the case of a Texas prisoner, which was aimed at his execution. However, one of the posts had an image of a project manager wrong Ivan Cantu in New York.
The plaintiff claimed that the post caused him to “emotional crisis,” the attack of privacy, and other disadvantages, including sleep loss and PTSD. Kim’s legal team called the trial a meritless and said that the image was removed within hours.
“The lawsuit is an attempt to capitalize on a mistake,” his lawyer said, according to US Weekly. Shortly after the discovery of the error, Kardashian also released a public apology.
Kardashian advocates from legal investigation
In a signed announcement, Kim emphasized his dedication to criminal justice reform, claiming that his advocacy work lies in personal belief and is not a professional benefit. “In the story of 26 February, the image of the plaintiff was a mistake and was not intentionally made,” he said in the announcement.
He unknowingly described the mix-up and expressed regrets to the error. “I did not use the image that appeared in the story of 26 February, I knew it was a picture of the plaintiff and not Mr. Cantu,” he said. The matter continues.
