Gil Gerard’s death announced by wife Janet

In a Facebook post shared by Janet Gerrard, an update on his passing was confirmed. “Early this morning Gil – my life partner – lost his battle with a rare and extremely aggressive form of cancer,” Janet’s post read. Her note, made public Tuesday evening, read, “The moment we learned there was something wrong with his death this morning was just a few days away. It doesn’t matter how many years I had to spend with him, it would never have been enough. Hold tight to those you have and love them fiercely.”

Gil Gerrard wrote a heartfelt note to the world

The actor had reportedly asked his partner to share a few words with him after his demise. Gerard’s statement read, “My life has been an amazing journey. The opportunities I have had, the people I have met and the love I have given and received have made my 82 years on this planet extremely satisfying.” “My journey has taken me from Arkansas to New York to Los Angeles, and finally, to my home in North Georgia with my wonderful wife of 18 years, Janet. It’s been a wonderful journey, but inevitably like my journey it too has come to an end. Don’t waste your time on anything that doesn’t thrill you or give you love. See you somewhere in the universe.”

He is survived by his son, Gilbert “Gib” Vincent Gerard, whom he shares with his ex-wife, actress Connie Sellecca.
