The body of Malayalam actor Dilip Shankar was found in a hotel room in Thiruvananthapuram on 29 December. He stayed there for four days for the shooting of his TV serial. According to reports, the actor had not come out of his room for a long time. Meanwhile, his dead body was discovered after the foul smell spread. Who was Dilip Shankar?
Dilip Shankar was a popular Mollywood actor and was famous for his roles in many regional daily serials. He became famous for the role of Peter in Ammayariathe. He also played the role of Chandrasenan in Panchagni. Dilip also appeared in notable Malayalam films like North 24 Katham and Chappa Kurishu. Fahadh Faasil was in the lead role in both these films.
Although not much is known about his personal life, he is quite active on social media and often shares videos from the sets of his shows or from moments spent with his loved ones.
Dilip Shankar passes away
As we discussed, Dilip Shankar was found dead in Kerala on December 29. According to a report in The New Indian Express, the police were immediately informed and reached the spot. A senior police officer confirmed that a forensic team was sent to investigate the room.
Dilip’s co-stars tried calling him but got no answer. They went to the hotel to check on him but were unable to reach him before his death. The investigation into the death of the TV artist is still going on.
“There is no indication of foul play at this stage. The exact cause of death will be known after the post-mortem,” the official was quoted as saying by the publication. More information about Dilip’s case is still awaited.
