"Which state has the best biryani?" Internet reacts to Singapore’s ambassador to India’s post

World Biryani Day 2024 was celebrated on 7 July. On the occasion, Simon Wong, Singapore’s High Commissioner to India, shared a special post on X (formerly Twitter). He posted a video and photos showing him making this beloved dish and asked for suggestions from his followers. In the video, Simon Wong can be seen standing in front of a large pot full of biryani, which is placed on the stove. He opens it and smells the vapors that come out and says, “Wow! This smells so good.” He further says, “What you need to do is stir it well from the bottom so that all the ingredients mix well together.” He mixes the layers together while speaking and says “Success, I think… on the first attempt. I hope it turns out good. Enjoy.”

The pictures show a delicious meal. A kadhai has delicious looking biryani with chunks of meat. A bowl has raita. The other plates have boiled eggs, fried onions and chopped vegetables (onions, tomatoes and cucumber). The caption of the post reads, “Namaste India! Happy World Biryani Day! My first attempt at making biryani. Tell me which state has the best biryani and I will go there. Bon appetite. – HC Wong.” Take a look below:
