The city’s charming landscapes create the perfect backdrop for Emma’s adventures in the film. Ushuaia doubled for Antarctica, providing an authentic and visually stunning setting for the film.
During filming, actor Dean McDermott, who played Ian, shared updates on social media. On his birthday he posted, “I’m so lucky to be celebrating my birthday in Ushuaia, Argentina!! I’m only a stone’s throw from Antarctica. Celebrating with old friends, new friends and my beautiful girlfriend. In I am grateful to everyone.” “Life is amazing to be healthy and stay clean and sober.”
Director Colin Thesse also posted photos of beautiful locations on Instagram, showing off the incredible environment where the film was shot.
Maeve Quinlan, who starred in the film, described her experience on Instagram as the experience of a lifetime. Rhiannon Fish, who plays Emma, is a familiar face to many people. He began his acting career at the age of 11 and starred in various Hallmark films. Fans may recognize him from Neighbours, Home and Away and The 100. Fish also made her way into the hearts of viewers on Dancing with the Stars.
Marcian Tarasiuk, who plays Andy, began acting at the age of six and has appeared in several Canadian productions. He earned a nomination for Best Supporting Actor at the UBCP/ACTRA Awards and joined Vancouver’s Speakeasy Theatre.
Polar Opposites follows Emma, who is on a mission to reach her father in Antarctica. However, when she is unable to board the boat for the final leg of the journey, she quietly boards a cruise ship where she meets Andy.
