Prabhas and director Nag Ashwin’s ‘Kalki 2898 E.D.’ sequel will begin shooting in early 2025, confirmed producers Swapna Dutt and Priyanka Dutt. The mega-budget entertainer became one of the biggest hits of Indian cinema this year. Now, all eyes are on the film’s sequel. The makers of the film shared an update about Part 2 at the Moscow International Film Week. ‘Kalki 2898 E.D.’ is being screened at the international event.
while talking to News18The Dutt sisters revealed that the shooting of ‘Kalki Part 2’ will begin in January or February 2025. “Filming will begin in the next five or six months (January or February 2025). Once it starts, we will be able to talk more about it.”
Some scenes of the second part were shot during the shooting of the first part. Pre-production work for the second part is currently underway.
Swapna Dutt said that they are now excited for part 2. “This time, there is more excitement than nervousness. I think there will be a lot more planning now. Whatever we did for part one, we were all going from Nag Ashwin’s perspective. It often happens that until you actually see the scene, you don’t understand most of the things. Now that we have seen all the work done by Nagi (Nag Ashwin) and understood how the audience has taken it, we are approaching part two with a completely different energy,” she said.
The sequel of ‘Kalki 2898 AD’ will focus on Supreme Yaskin (Kamal Haasan), who has gained the power to set out on a mission.

Directed by Nag Ashwin, ‘Kalki 2898 A.D.’ revolves around a group of people who are on a mission to save SUM-80’s (Deepika Padukone) unborn child, Kalki (an incarnation of Lord Vishnu). The common belief is that the child will join hands with Ashwatthama (Amitabh Bachchan) and Bhairava (Prabhas) to end Kali Yuga.
This mega budget film stars Prabhas, Kamal Haasan, Amitabh Bachchan and Deepika Padukone in the lead roles. Other actors including Disha Patani, Brahmanandam, Rajendra Prasad, Shobana, Pasupathi and Saswata Chatterjee are part of the supporting cast of the film.
