Sanjay Leela Bhansali made Rajeev Khandelwal wait for unreleased film
Rajeev Khandelwal is a popular TV personality who made his debut in the Hindi film industry with the commercially successful film Aamir. In 2008, the action thriller film brought him name and fame and even impressed the famous filmmaker Sanjay Leela Bhansali to sign him as the lead character of his film.
During an interview with Siddharth Kannan, the Bloody Daddy actor revealed that the Gangubai Kathiawadi director had signed him for a film titled Chenab Gandhi and it never took off. Rajeev said that SLB made him wait from 9 months to almost a year.
But sadly, the film never took off and since he was bound by contract, he couldn’t take up any other work. “But soon after it was over, I faced the truth,” Khandelwal recalled. He further added that while he was waiting for the film, he was not told whether the film was being made or not.
But when he was told that the film was not being made, he moved on. When asked if he ever asked the director of Heeramandi why the film was not made, Rajeev said that he never got an answer. However, the director of the film, Vibhu Puri, told him, “Rajiv move on, the film is not being made.”
The actor further added that the film was a huge project as many actors had worked on it before him. However, until Sanjay Leela Bhansali had an answer as to why the film was not made, he kept it on hold.
