When Rekha talked about reuniting with Big B on screen: He is my conscience

Veteran actors Rekha and Amitabh Bachchan were last seen together in the 1981 film Silsila. Despite their hit chemistry on-screen, the pair never reunited on screen after the YRF relationship film. Later in an interview, Rekha talked about the possibility of working with Big B again.
In an interview in 2006 filmfare On Bachchan’s 64th birthday, the popular Bollywood superstar credited Big B for shaping him as an actor and a person. She also mentioned fans who were reaching out to her and asking her about their possible screen reunion. Rekha said, “When fans write to me and question why we didn’t work together after Silsila, the only logical answer I can think of is that it’s great to be able to co-star with Amit ji. The wait is worth it. Everything happens for the right time.”
He talked about filmmakers who could offer him and Bachchan the kind of work that would be worth their reunion. Rekha, now 70, never ruled out the possibility of working with Bachchan again, despite all the theories suggesting it. He asked people to believe in the fact that good things take time to happen.
She added, “And I would attribute it to the better judgment of directors, who believe that they haven’t found anything worthy of our level yet. Appreciating Bachchan’s talent as an actor, Rekha said, “Whatever I am as an actor, I owe him 100 percent. Whatever he offered, I just kept looking at him.”
The evergreen diva of the film industry further mentioned that Big B never had any idea of the kind of impact he had left on her life and career choices. He explained, “The irony is that he was completely oblivious to the impact he had on my life or anyone else’s. Just his presence and spirit contributed to my betterment as an actor and a human being. He was my inner conscience. Like the one who guides.” Me through life and my performances.”
She went on to talk about the times when she got the opportunity to dub for Bachchan’s other female co-stars and how she enjoyed those moments. “My loss is that I didn’t get a chance to share Amit ji’s phenomenal growth as an actor. So would you blame me for being thrilled when his producers asked me to play Neetu Singh in Yaarana, Sridevi in Aakhri Raasta Requested to dub for it.” Jayasudha and late Soundarya in Suryavansham?,” he concluded.
Rekha and Amitabh Bachchan worked together in many iconic films, including Do Anjaane (1976), Muqaddar Ka Sikandar (1978), Mr. Natwarlal (1979) and Aalaap (1977). While Bachchan continues to work with regular dedication, Rekha seems to have taken a break from films. However, she is seen actively participating in social events, award ceremonies, festive celebrations and private gatherings at friends’ places.
