“Achha chalta hoon, duaon mein yaad rakhna!” Remember when Ranbir Kapoor lip-synced these powerful lyrics in his 2016 film Ae Dil Hai Mushkil? While Anushka Sharma looked stunning in a 17-kg bridal lehenga as Alizeh, Ranbir, as the bride’s best friend Ayan, stole the limelight with his wedding look. The soulful track, sung by Arijit Singh, had Ranbir wearing henna on his hands. Celebrity mehndi artist Veena Nagda recently revealed that the actor was keen to apply mehndi. The mehndi artist revealed that Ranbir loved applying henna on his hands.
During her recent interview with Bollywood Now, Veena Nagda shared her experience of working with Ranbir Kapoor on the sets of Ae Dil Hai Mushkil. During the making of the song ‘Channa Mereya’, Ranbir was excited to get mehendi applied on his hands.
Recalling the moments spent with the actor, Veena said, “Ranbir also used to apply mehendi with great interest, because that scene was such that mehendi had to be applied on his hands…”
Veena Nagda praised the Brahmastra actor, saying that he is a lot of fun on the sets. The famous mehndi artist also shared a funny anecdote about Ranbir from when the actor was shooting for Channa Mereya. Veena recalled how whenever the mehndi would fall off after drying, the Animal star would come to her to fix it.
Meanwhile, Veena Nagda also applied mehendi to Deepika Padukone and Kalki Koechlin during the shooting of Ayan Mukerji’s film Yeh Jawani Hai Deewani in 2013. Veena revealed that she had gone for a 45-day shoot at an outdoor location in Udaipur.
Talking about her experience with Deepika and Kalki in ‘Yeh Jawani Hai Deewani’, she said that the actresses wanted to apply ‘proper’ mehendi on their hands.
Directed, produced and written by Karan Johar, Ae Dil Hai Mushkil featured Ranbir Kapoor and Anushka Sharma in the lead roles. Aishwarya Rai Bachchan, who appeared in the second part of the 2016 film, played a pivotal role in it. It also featured Lisa Haydon. Shah Rukh Khan and Fawad Khan played their respective roles in the film. Alia Bhatt made a cameo appearance in this Karan Johar directorial.
