Lakshya recently made his big screen debut with the Karan Johar-backed action thriller Kill. However, this was his second association with Dharma Productions, the first being Dostana 2 which was abruptly shelved. In a recent interview with News18 Shosha the actor recalled the time when he first associated with Karan Johar and suddenly became famous, which was a bit difficult for Lakshya to digest.
Karan Johar laughed when he heard that Lakshya did not want to be photographed
During the conversation, Lakshya admitted that Karan Johar has always been a mentor to him. He recalled that when he signed Dostana 2, the paparazzi culture came into vogue in a big way. Lakshya said, “You have your airport look, funeral look, basically every kind of look is being created.”
The Porus actor started thinking about how he would execute this shutterbug game as it was quite strategic and he hadn’t done anything like this before. Lakshya revealed that he was stuttering while asking his PR if it would be okay for him not to be a part of the piece. Karan Johar who was in the same room started laughing along with Lakshya’s manager.

KJo said to Lakshya, ‘What’s wrong with you? We are launching you in a film and you are thinking about such trivial things!’ On hearing this, the Warrior High actor tried to explain that he was very worried about the sudden attention and it was not natural for him to be on and off Instagram.
Lakshya remembered the advice given by Karan Johar
The Rocky Aur Rani Ki Prem Kahani director understood Lakshya’s concerns well and advised him to stay true to himself. “(Karan said) I shouldn’t try to portray a certain image or sound like someone else. And that stayed with me for all these years. His words really touched my heart,” Lakshya said.
Lakshya’s first big film Kill hit the theatres on July 5 and was directed by Nikhil Nagesh Bhat. Inspired by true events, the thriller was co-produced by Karan Johar, Guneet Monga, Apoorva Mehta and Achin Jain. It also starred Raghav Juyal, Ashish Vidyarthi, Harsh Chhaya, Tanya Maniktala and Abhishek Chauhan in pivotal roles and received positive reviews from critics.
