Boney Kapoor and Sridevi’s marriage was successful until his demise. However, the filmmaker never forgets to refresh the memories of the actress in his interviews. Recently Boney revealed that when he proposed to famous actress Sridevi, she was surprised because he was married and had two children. Nevertheless, he gradually convinced her and they had a happy married life.
In an interview with ABP Live, Boney Kapoor shared unknown details about his courtship period with Sridevi. Expressing his undying love and commitment towards the Chandni actress, the Wanted producer recalled that he did not speak to her for months after his proposal as he was already married to Mona Shourie and has two children, Arjun Kapoor and Anshula Kapoor.
Boney said, “It took me four-five-six years to convince her. When I proposed to her, she didn’t talk to me for six months. She said, ‘You are married and have two children, how can you Can talk ‘I like it?’ But I said what was in my heart and luck favored me.”
Despite being married, Kapoor admitted that although he loved Sridevi, he never hid his feelings from his first wife Mona Shourie. He confessed that no one is perfect in love and gave his own example that when he fell in love with the English Vinglish actress, he was already married, yet he ensured complete transparency from his end. The filmmaker said that he remained his friend from his first life until his death because he believed in honesty.
Boney said, “It is always better to be honest with your partner and similarly you also have to be honest with your children. I am a friend to my children, I am a mother to my children, I am a father to my children.”
He acknowledged that understanding is important in a relationship and it grows with time. Also, difference in trust is also important to maintain a relationship in the long run.
Despite many issues between them, Boney Kapoor and Sridevi’s love story had a beautiful journey till marriage and the couple was blessed with two daughters, Janhvi Kapoor and Khushi Kapoor. Both of them have made their place in the film industry. But, after a successful marriage of over two decades, the legendary actress sadly passed away in 2018.
