Recently, Shalini Pandey, who made headlines with her performance in Maharaj, talked about her funny text conversation with her co-star Junaid Khan’s father.
Most of us remember actress Shalini Pandey as a teenager in Sidharth P. Malhotra’s historical drama film Maharaj. During a recent conversation with Bollywood Hungama, she revealed the texts she had with her co-star Junaid Khan’s father Aamir Khan.
Talking about a funny incident, he told that he had to attend Maharaj’s success party with his friend Junaid. That day, she received a message from the PK actor asking whether she was going to attend the function or not. But before answering him, he asked her to reveal her identity and tell him who she is. Aamir immediately addressed himself as ‘Junaid’s father’.
But at the time, the reference did not resonate with the Arjun Reddy actress, who in turn replied, ‘Who is Junaid’s father?’ After a few seconds, she realized who it was but when he had already replied that he was Aamir Khan. Embarrassed by his questions, Shalini said sorry to the veteran actor. Without getting angry, the Dangal star started laughing and said, ‘Of course I am your uncle, I am Junaid’s father!’ Sharing this anecdote, Pandey said that she asked who he was because for a minute she had forgotten who Junaid’s father was.
To refresh your memory, Maharaj marks Junaid’s acting debut in the industry. Apart from him and Shalini, it also stars Jaideep Ahlawat and Sharvari and is based on the 1862 Maharaj Libel Case described in Saurabh Shah’s novel.
Meanwhile, on the work front, Shalini Pandey also shares the screen with Ranveer Singh, Boman Irani and Ratna Pathak Shah in the 2022 comedy-drama film, Jayeshbhai Jordaar. Currently, she is busy shooting for her upcoming Tamil language film, Idali Kadai with actors Dhanush and Nithya Menen.
