Hozier, 34, has been prioritizing his health. He recently announced via social media that he has decided to take a short break from his Unreal Unearth Tour to recover from a recent virus.
The singer revealed on his X account on Monday, August 26, that he has made this tough decision in order to recover from the virus. He was scheduled to perform at the First Interstate Arena in Billings, Montana on August 27 and in Carper, Wyoming on Wednesday, August 28. However, he told his fans that both shows will be rescheduled to a later date.
According to the publication, prior to this decision, he took the stage at Rogers Place in Edmonton, Canada on Saturday, August 24.
In a post shared on the aforementioned platform, the singer expressed his gratitude to everyone who attended the show during his “run,” specifically thanking the people “who have shown such kind support over the past several nights while I’ve struggled to get back on the singing track while recovering from a recent virus.”
Hozier wrote that it was fun for him to connect with his fans on stage, but his voice was not getting the “chance” it needed to heal properly. He explained that he was heartbroken to have to postpone two shows. He did so so that he could have every chance to heal his voice enough to perform during the rest of his tour.
He told his fans that new dates for those two shows will be announced soon and asked his fans to hold on to their tickets because they will be “honored when the new dates are announced.”
The singer also revealed that those who are unable to attend the event will be refunded from the point of purchase. He hoped that people will accept his “sincere apology for any inconvenience caused by this”. The 34-year-old singer once again expressed his gratitude for the “support and understanding”.
According to the publication, the singer’s next show is scheduled for Friday, August 30, at Fiddler’s Green Amphitheatre in Greenwood Village, Colorado. He will then perform shows in Australia and perform the first show of his tour at Perth’s RAC Arena on November 5.
