The outfit featured a tailored coat, skirt and blouse, not to mention a matching boater hat by Eric Javits.

It’s a stark contrast to what Melania wore during the 2017 presidential inauguration, which was a light blue Ralph Lauren cashmere set. Her attire also drew comparisons to Jacqueline Kennedy.

This time, the First Lady opted for a more subdued and restrained aesthetic. She completed her look with black leather gloves and dark blue suede Manolo Blahnik pumps.

Donald Trump, on the other hand, chose a classic long navy-blue coat with a tie, creating a harmonious look that perfectly matched Melania’s outfit.

But whether Melania’s daytime inauguration dress will become part of the Smithsonian’s First Ladies Collection remains uncertain. He had previously contributed to the collection in 2017.

Traditionally, the ceremony is held outside at the Capitol, but this time, due to dangerously cold temperatures, it was held indoors.
