Amaran is based on real life events and follows the journey of Major Mukund Varadarajan. He was a soldier of the Indian Army who sacrificed his life fighting for his country. For his selfless work he was posthumously honored and awarded the Ashoka Chakra. This honor was received by his wife Indu Rebecca Varghese.
In the film, Sivakarthikeyan played the role of Major Mukund Varadarajan, while Sai Pallavi played the role of Sindhu Rebecca Varghese. Fans liked the on-screen presence of both the actors and the film was a success.
In just three days, Amaran crossed the Rs 100 crore mark at the worldwide box office. With this momentum, the Rajkumar Periyasamy directorial could become one of the highest-grossing films of 2024 after Vijay starrer The GOAT. For those unaware, the film faced stiff competition from releases like Jayam Rabie’s Brother, Dulquer Salmaan’s Lucky Baskar, Kiran’s KA, Kavin’s Bloody Beggar and many more.
Meanwhile, Amran has already become a victim of theft. According to media reports, the film has been leaked online on several Telegram channels, TamilRockers and other websites. It remains to be determined whether this factor will affect the box office earnings of the Sivakarthikeyan starrer.
