Lala Kent welcomed another member to her family, a baby girl, on Tuesday, September 3. The reality show star, who took the unconventional route to giving birth, shared the wonderful news with the world via her social media.
The Vanderpump Rules star wrote about her newborn daughter on her Instagram Stories, “Welcome to the world my love.” Kent has previously elaborated on her decision to have a baby in an unconventional way.
According to US Weekly, she gave birth to her first daughter with her ex-fiancé Randall Emmett in 2021, whom she named Ocean. The two split the same year. Kent had previously revealed that she went the route of intrauterine insemination (IUI) and sperm donor to conceive a second child.
In January, the reality show star told Cosmopolitan that she never thought she would take this path. Kent had seen herself in a “cookie-cutter relationship and having a family,” but she said the universe now has other “plans” for her and Kent is grateful for the choice.
She felt the need to start a conversation about this because there are women in this world who wait for a man to come along and just want children, even when they have the option to have children. She added, “If you want children and are just waiting for ‘that person’ to come into your life, let’s talk about taking a different path.”
The reality TV star said on her podcast, Give Them Lala, in March that in the case of her sperm donor, appearance was a low priority for her on the “totem pole.” She hated to reveal it but she needed them to be smart because she said she wasn’t smart.
She also revealed that she didn’t understand that she would have her second baby on the first try. She thought she had more time to become a mother once again. Kent added, “And even my fertility doctor said, ‘I think it was just a meet and greet.’ It was like, ‘Hey, nice to meet you. Here. Bye!’ It happened so fast.”
According to US Weekly, she later revealed that she has plenty of sperm “left over” from her donor, so she can always be ready for a third round. This could be a subtle hint at her future plans in life.
