‘We had agreed not to interfere in each other’s lives’: Amrita Suresh on divorce from ex-husband Bala

Actor Bala’s feud with his ex-wife Amrita Suresh became a topic on every gossip column after the latter filed a complaint against him on the grounds of harassment. Later, the actor married for the third time with his Chennai-based cousin Kokila. Amidst all the turmoil, Amrita finally broke her silence and revealed why it took her time to open up her side of the story.

During a question-and-answer session on Facebook, Amrita mentioned how her parents were blamed for her problems. She said how people were quick to judge her and question her upbringing, while she never got a chance to speak and reveal her side of the story.

“There is no point in blaming anyone,” he said. People speak based on what they know. “I didn’t tell you what happened.”

Moving on, Amrita emphasized that she never wanted to play the victim card and said how, at the time of their divorce, she and Bala had agreed that they would be a part of each other’s lives from now on. Will not interfere.

Amrita revealed, “If I had opened up earlier, people would have said I was playing the victim card. I didn’t want that. It takes two hands to clap. At the time of the divorce, we agreed that we would not interfere in each other’s lives, say anything negative, make public comments or bring up our daughter in the media. I also felt it was important to respect the court’s decision.”

Amidst the ongoing controversy with Amrita, Bala tied the knot with his cousin sister Kokila on October 23, 2024. Their pictures from the intimate celebration went viral on social media in no time and the couple enjoyed their union surrounded by friends and family members.

However, despite the happy occasion, Bala also received a lot of criticism from fans who spoke ill of her tying the knot again.

On the contrary, Bala addressed the media explaining how Kokila had loved him since childhood and by their marriage he was fulfilling one of her long-cherished dreams.

He further assured that this will be their last marriage and he is confident that it will be good and prosperous for both of them. Lastly, he commented how he only wanted good blessings and good wishes from everyone and that it was okay even if some people did not express those feelings for him.
