Wayne Osmond has died at the age of 73 after suffering a severe stroke. The Osmond Brothers singer died on Wednesday, Dec. 1 in Salt Lake City with his family by his side, his brother Merrill Osmond announced via Facebook.
“When I learned that my brother Wayne had suffered a massive stroke, my immediate reaction was that I fell to my knees and prayed that he would have the assurance that his mission was accomplished, and that in this effort Successful in many ways,” the composer wrote.
“I went to the hospital at SLC right away to see him and I was able to say goodbye to him,” Merrill said.

In his emotional tribute, the singer described his brother as a saint and said that he had never seen a man who had so much humility and who had no hypocrisy and who was quick to forgive and who Has the ability to show unconditional love towards anyone he has ever met.
The 71-year-old also paid tribute to his late brother’s “genius” ability to write music.

Wayne rose to fame in the 1950s with his brothers Merrill, Jay Osmond, 69, and Alan Osmond, 75. He was discovered by Andy Williams’ father, Jay Emerson Williams, while performing at Disneyland in the 1960s. According to the Hollywood Walk of Fame, the group made several appearances on The Andy Williams Show in the ’60s.
The Osmond brothers spent the early years of their career touring throughout Europe before splitting up to pursue their solo music careers.
At the height of his fame, Wayne married his wife of 73 years, Kathleen, in 1974. The couple welcomed children Amy Osmond, 48; Steven Osmond, 46; Gregory Osmond, 43; Sara Osmond, 42; And Michelle Osmond, 38, in full union.
The One Bad Apple crooner, per People, was diagnosed with a brain tumor in 1994, but made a full recovery six months later.
