A Zomato agent who delivered food on the flooded streets of Ahmedabad is receiving a lot of praise on social media. A widely circulated clip on X (formerly known as Twitter) shows the delivery agent walking through knee-deep water. Since the video went viral, the delivery agent’s perseverance and commitment has been receiving a lot of praise. Social media users have urged Zomato CEO Deepinder Goyal to reward the agent for his great work. The caption with the video read, “#Zomato delivering amidst heavy rains in Ahmedabad!!”

The official X handle of Zomato’s customer care responded to the viral post and thanked the user for sharing the video. They also asked for the order ID number so that they could identify the delivery agent. Zomato wrote, “Hi Vikunj! Thanks for highlighting the extraordinary efforts of our delivery partner! They truly braved the extreme weather like superheroes. To help us recognise and celebrate their efforts, can you share the order ID or details about the area and time of delivery? This will ensure that our superhero delivery partner gets the recognition he deserves.”

As the video gained popularity, a variety of reactions emerged online. While some praised the delivery agent’s commitment to his job, others criticised the customer’s decision to place an order during such bad weather.

Some users seemed angry with the people who were risking the life of the delivery agent. They posted comments like, “This is inhumane and dangerous. He is risking his life for an order worth Rs 500. If he was getting minimum wages, he wouldn’t do this. Please instruct riders not to deliver in such conditions.”
