Made with gram flour and lots of ghee, this sweet melts in your mouth. Recently a food vlogger (@foodie_incarnet) shared the process of making this dessert on Instagram. The video was filmed at a shop in Karnataka and has since gone viral, garnering over 8 million views.

In the clip, cooks are shown putting gram flour and ghee in the churning machine. As the machine continues mixing, they gradually add more ghee. Sugar is then added to the batter, followed by additional ghee. Once the mixture thickens to a bouncy and shiny texture, it is transferred to a food tray and flattened using a rolling pin. After letting it set, the cook cuts the sweet into small pieces, which are packaged and sold.

The video has caught the attention of the internet since it was shared. People flooded the comments section with their reactions.
“I think it’s amazing,” said one foodie. Praising the process, one person said, “I am seeing the process of making Mysore Pak for the first time. Very clean and beautiful.” Another agreed, saying, “The cleanliness and hygiene that was followed is highly commendable.” Some people claimed it to be their “favorite” dessert.

Critics expressed concern about the huge amount of sugar used in making Mysore Pak, with some even claiming that the dessert is “too expensive”. One user said, “It has no taste of its own, it just tastes like ghee.” Another comment read, “They are not even using real ghee.”
