WATCH: Taylor Swift welcomed to Scotland with bagpipe version of ‘Love Story’
Taylor Swift’s concert at Murrayfield Stadium in Edinburgh is eagerly awaited, with the city giving the singer a grand welcome with traditional Scottish music and gorgeous costumes. The Reel Time Pipe Band played a special rendition of ‘Love Story’ in honour of Swift’s arrival.
Taylor Swift’s much-anticipated performance at Edinburgh’s Murrayfield Stadium this weekend has caused much excitement. The Scottish capital gave the global superstar a warm welcome with a grand display of traditional Scottish music. Residents organised a performance by The Real Time Pipe Band, comprising eight Highland bagpipers and three drummers, to welcome Swift.
The band spent 32 hours practising their rendition of Swift’s hit song ‘Love Story’, which was first released in 2008. Videos shared by the Scottish Daily Record and Edinburgh Live show the band in sequined kilts, matching the attire expected from Swift’s fans, known as ‘Swifties’.

Pipe Major Roddy Dean said, “Many of Taylor’s tunes translate surprisingly well onto traditional Scottish instruments. We are all huge fans of the music so we were delighted to welcome Taylor to Scotland. It was great fun to recreate Love Story on the bagpipes and bring this group together.”
The video received a positive response from fans, with many praising the warm reception. Taylor Swift’s ‘Eras Tour’ in Edinburgh includes performances on three consecutive nights from June 7 to June 9. According to an Instagram post, the Scottish Gas Murrayfield Stadium has been temporarily renamed ‘Scottish Lass’ in honour of Swift’s visit.
