WATCH: Kareena Kapoor’s reaction when Taimur asks her if she’s famous
Kareena Kapoor Khan shared a funny anecdote about her sons’ understanding of her fame during a press conference celebrating 25 years in cinema.
Kareena Kapoor Khan is celebrating 25 years in Indian cinema and PVR Inox is organising a film festival to mark the occasion, showcasing some of her best performances. On the night of September 18, the actress interacted with the media ahead of the festival. Kapoor, whose film The Buckingham Murders is currently running in cinemas, was asked by India Today Digital if her sons Taimur and Jeh understand how popular she is. To this, she shared a funny anecdote.
Kareena Kapoor Khan said, “Right now they are too young to know these things. He (Taimur) knows it because the paparazzi are following him.” She added, “I think that’s why he knows. But he keeps saying, ‘Why are they following him? Am I famous?’ I said, ‘No you’re not famous, I am famous. You’re nothing, you haven’t done anything.’ He says, ‘Maybe one day I will do it’.”
Kareena Kapoor further added, “But right now, he doesn’t have films on his mind. It’s only football, everything is football. I hope he watches some of my films. I am sure someday, I can get him away from football. You know how all boys are at this age.”
When Kareena was asked about Brand Kareena Kapoor Khan, she replied, “I have never seen myself as a brand. I want people to see my work, my films. I want people to know that I am an actress who is very passionate about her work, an actress who is loved by her fans because being here after 25 years is only because of them, their support and their love.”
PVR INOX Limited recently announced the Kareena Kapoor Khan Film Festival, a grand celebration of 25 years of her illustrious career. The week-long film festival will run from September 20-27, 2024 across 30+ theatres in 15 cities, giving audiences a unique opportunity to once again experience the best of Kareena’s cinematic journey on the big screen.
The festival coincides with the release of her latest film, The Buckingham Murders – a thriller that delves into themes of grief and the human desire for closure, featuring one of Kareena’s most compelling performances yet.
Buckingham Murders is directed by Hansal Mehta and produced by Shobha Kapoor, Ekta Kapoor and Kareena Kapoor Khan. It is presented by Balaji Telefilms in association with Kareena Kapoor Khan, A Mahana Films and TBM Films Production.
