Have you ever picked up a pack food product drawn by a vibrant image of fresh fruit on the label, thinking that it should be a healthy option? Well, this is not completely true. The food industry is filled with misleading marketing strategy, where companies use misleading packaging and labeling their products more nutritious, natural or attractive.
Industrialist Harsh Goenka recently highlighted the issue through a video on the microblogging site X (East Twitter). “How our food companies are taking us to a ride! I was really surprised by these revelations,” he wrote.
He shared a sniphet with the podcast of Vlogger Raj Shamani, where the health and nutrition -affected reventure Himatsinga, aka FoodformerThe misleading strategies were talked about that food companies use to mislead consumers.
Taking an example of almonds and cashew cookies, the Reventure said that consumers may expect the product to expect a 50-60 percent nuts, only 1.8 percent almonds and 0.4 percent cashew. Subsequently, the material manufacturer talked about a biscuit, which was advertised as a whole cookie, but only 19.5 percent was contrary to 52 percent of sophisticated flour.

Another product, which is being sold as an herb cookie, claims that Ashwagandha, Turmeric, Tulsi, Giloy and Amla (Gozberry), but all these ingredients have made only 0.1 percent product, according to the packet.
Talking about tomato ketchup, the Reventure said, “Here, in the back, it is a sign. It is only a brand name/trademark and does not represent its true nature.”

He said, “The issue is that whatever food product you take, there is a lot of fake marketing going on, misleading marketing. And this is a big issue that I think you think and people should be careful because it is how our body is, how our health is, that is why we are going to go to the hospital.”
