A storage tank operated by Bapco Energy, the country’s largest refinery, caught fire following a missile attack by Iran on Sunday.Iran’s state-affiliated media shared video on social media of the moment the facility exploded and caught fire. The 10-second clip shows an explosion and then black smoke and fire coming out of the scene.
In a statement quoted by Al Arabiya, the company confirmed that the fire has been brought under control and the damage is being assessed.Separately, Bahrain’s Interior Ministry said sirens were sounded early Sunday, urging citizens and residents to remain calm and move to the nearest safe place.
