Adrien Brody finally shot down speculations that he was banned from Saturday Night Live because he used a Jamaican accent during his part, which was the reason for the rumor that he was banned from the show.
Let us tell you, in 2003, Brody was invited to the aforementioned comedy sketch show, during which he wore a dreadlock wig and spoke in a Jamaican accent while introducing Sean Paul, who was that episode’s musical guest. The singer is a native of Kingston, Jamaica and the actor hails from New York City.
This soon became a topic of discussion, and it was speculated that the Oscar-winning star’s acting was not good for the show, and he was reportedly banned due to the same.
Now, shedding light on the same, the Golden Globe winner spoke to Vulture that he was never formally banned, adding that he hasn’t even been invited back. “So I don’t know what to tell you,” Brody said.
The Grand Budapest star shared that it was her idea and initially she did it during the dress rehearsal and the dress was provided to her on the show itself. “I think Lorne wasn’t happy with me embellishing a little bit, but he allowed me to do it,” the artist said, adding, “I thought it was a safe place to do it, weird. Is.”
The pianist star also said that there were several bits he tossed around during his time on the show, one of which was a bit he said, “They were all literally different from my pitching.”
