As the year comes to an end, Pinkvilla conducted a poll for its avid readers to vote for the best Kannada film to release in 2024. The survey included many other films like Bagheera, Martin, Yuva, Bhairathi Ranagal, UI which made it to the list. Screen this year. Soon after the poll went live, it was flooded with reactions. And now, the final decision based on the results has come.
According to the poll results, the film Bagheera got the maximum votes. The Dr Suri-directed film received 31 percent votes among all the options, making it the clear winner. Thus, it is clear that according to netizens, the Sriimurali-starrer is considered to be the best Kannada film of 2024.
Let us tell you that the story of Bagheera has been written by Prashant Neel himself. The superhero film closed with a stellar collection of Rs 1 crore at the worldwide box office. 30 crores. Recently, the film got a Hindi language OTT release on Disney+ Hotstar platform from December 25.
Moving on, the film that secured the second position as per the poll results is none other than the recent release UI. The science-fiction, dystopian action film starred Upendra in the lead role and garnered 25 percent of the votes.
Since its release on December 20, the film has received significant response from the audience, including mainly positive reviews from fans and even other stars, who have expressed their honest opinions on social media .
The next film in the queue is Shiva Rajkumar’s Bhairathi Ranagal, which has received 19 percent votes from netizens based on the poll. The Kannada language neo-noir action thriller has already received a successful response at the box office post its release.
Directed by Northern, the film is a prequel to the 2017 release Mufti and also stars Rahul Bose, Rukmini Vasanth, Avinash, Devraj and others in pivotal roles.
Meanwhile, films like Vice President, Martin and Krishnam Pranaya Sakhi got the same number of votes, 7 percent each.
All of these films received mixed reactions from critics and fans alike, not to mention how they performed below expectations.
On the other hand, films like Bheema, Karatak Damanaka and Bachelor Party received even fewer votes, 4 percent each. These films also struggled at the box office and performed poorly.
Unfortunately, the young prince’s film failed to receive any votes from the youth audience, leading to its poor performance in both polls and box office.
