The Vivo X200 series has already taken the market by storm, especially with its impressive camera performance. While the standard and Pro models are now available globally, the tech community is buzzing with rumors about the upcoming Vivo X200 Ultra. According to the latest leak, by tipster Digital Chat Station (DCS), this high-end Ultra variant could launch in China in April 2025, with a slight possibility of an early March arrival. However, for those wondering whether the Ultra model will be launched in India or not, the chances look slim.
The Vivo X200 Ultra model may not come to India like its predecessor Vivo X100 Ultra, which never reached global markets. Well-known tipster Yogesh Brar has further fueled the speculation by saying that the X200 Ultra is not expected to expand beyond China. However, we believe that if the current X200 series sees an unexpected increase in sales, it may force Vivo to do a strategic rethink. However, it mostly seems that Indian consumers may have to settle for the standard and Pro models without the Ultra in the lineup.
As far as the features of the Vivo X200 Ultra are concerned, early leaks suggest that the device may offer a similar camera setup as the Vivo X200 Pro. Reports indicate a 50-megapixel primary sensor, a 50-megapixel ultrawide camera, and a 200-megapixel periscope telephoto lens. Although this configuration mirrors the Pro model, there are rumors that the Ultra may bring subtle upgrades including a larger aperture. We may also see it offering 5x optical image stabilization (OIS) like the iPhone 16 Pro, but there is no confirmation of this.
When it comes to video capabilities, the Ultra model is said to support 4K video recording at 120fps like the Pro model. Under the hood, the Vivo X200 Ultra could be powered by Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 8 Elite chipset, as opposed to the MediaTek Dimensity 9400 chip found in the Pro model. We have already tested devices that are using the same chipset and their benchmark results have shown that the Snapdragon chip offers slightly better performance and efficiency than the MediaTek one.
The Ultra may also have a 2K display, which is a slight upgrade from the Pro’s 1.5K panel. As for battery life, rumors suggest a 6,000mAh battery with 100W fast charging, which is slightly faster than the Pro’s 90W charging support.
For reference, the Vivo X200 is currently priced at Rs 64,999, while the Pro version is priced at Rs 94,999. It remains to be seen whether the Ultra model will bring enough new features to justify the higher price. With the launch still a few months away, more details are likely to be revealed in the coming weeks. However, Indian consumers may have to watch from a distance as the Ultra will remain exclusive to the Chinese market unless Vivo surprises with a wider release strategy.
