It is going to be a deep folding rival in the month of July. Not only Vivo X Fold 5, the successor of X Fold 3 since last year is rumored to be released on 10 July, but Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 7 has also been tipped to launch on the same date. We have already made a group of stories around the Galaxy Z Fold 7, so we will not be engrossed here. Instead, let’s change your attention to Vivo X Fold 5. So far, the phone is expected to be launched in India for some time in July, while the official China launch has been confirmed on June 25 at 7 pm local time. Here is everything that you need to know.
While Vivo has not dropped any official teaser for India, the phone has already taken the internet from the storm in China. Its product page is live on the official Chinese website of Vivo, and pre-orders have started. Interestingly, last year’s X fold 3 series had two models – Manak and Pro – but only X Fold 3 Pro came to India. This year, it seems that Vivo is starting with just one model – standard X fold 5. He said, we have to wait for June 25 to see if a Pro variant also makes an appearance.
Now, what the device provides – Vibo’s product manager Han Boxiao has already shared a lot of major details. He has confirmed that the phone will use 8T Ltpo panels on both inner and external screens, which will offer 120Hz adaptive refresh rates and 4,500 NITs peaks to the shikhar shine. Both displays are expected to support TV Renland’s global eye protection and Zes Master Color Certification. Vivo claims that it will provide better clarity, comfort and color accuracy in all lighting compared to its predecessor.
The Vivo X Fold 5 also attains IP5X dust conservation and an IPX9+ water resistance rating. It can be allegedly folded and manifested 1,000 times under the depth of 1 meter of water, and can do less work as -20C at temperatures.
Another major highlight is its weight and thickness. The X fold 5 is called quite slimmer and light compared to the previous model, which weighs around 209G and measures only 4.3 mm when manifested.
On the glasses front, the Vivo X Fold 5 is expected to be operated by Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 8 General 3 processor, which is paired with 16 GB RAM and 512 GB storage. The camera setup is likely to include a 50-megapixel triple rear camera system, although fine details are still wrapped. The battery can be around 6,000mAh with 90W fast charging and support for 30W wireless charging – again, solid number for a foldable.
Perhaps the most amazing description so far is that Vivo X Fold 5 can provide support for Apple’s ecosystem. According to the teaser shared on Weibo, the phone may be able to connect with Apple Watch, access the icloud files directly, and even work with MacBook and Airpods. If this is true, it will mark a rare moment of cross-platform compatibility-nothing has actually done by other Android brands.
Everyone said, now meditation is on vivo and how it keeps the phone in terms of pricing in India. As mentioned above, the Galaxy Z Fold 7 is expected to be launched around the same time, and also, it is not very likely that both phones will launch on the same date, given that these smartphone are two big people of the industry that we are talking about. However, if there is a possibility of 1 percent, then this happens, if both X fold 5 and Z fold 7 launch on the same day, it is going to be an interesting day in the history of the smartphone. July seems fun.
