Vivek Agnihotri fired the lead actor because of his manager’s ego
Vivek Agnihotri shared on X that he recently fired a prominent Bollywood actor because of his manager’s ego. The filmmaker criticized the influence of talent agencies on actor management.

Filmmaker Vivek Agnihotri recently shared that he had to fire a leading Bollywood actor due to a problem with his manager. Agnihotri shared on social media that the decision had to be taken due to the arrogant behavior of the manager. He mentioned that the manager worked for a famous star kid’s talent agency, but did not reveal the name of the actor or the manager.
The incident came to light when casting director Mukesh Chhabra today commented on the large number of people involved in managing actors. The casting director shared on X, “The current state of the film industry: one actor, 200 casting directors and 15,680 managers.”
Agnihotri responded by sharing his experience of letting an actor go because of the manager’s attitude and criticized such middlemen for causing more harm to careers than helping them. She wrote, “I had to fire a lead actor last week because his manager was very arrogant and behaved as if he had the privilege of being like this just because he worked for a ‘big celeb’ star kid talent agency’. Is an employee. These middlemen have ruined more careers than making them. Do a workshop and train these children.”
