Vivek Agnihotri converted Delhi files into Bengal files on public demand
Filmmaker Vivek Agnihotri has announced a new title for his upcoming political drama, earlier called ‘Delhi Files’. The filmmaker has changed the name to ‘The Bengali files’ due to public demand.

Filmmaker Vivek Agnihotri has changed the name of his upcoming political-drama ‘Delhi files’ on public demand. He shared a new poster of the film based on the 1940s communal violence in undivided Bengal on social media. Agnihotri also announced the teaser release date of the new film with his “files” trilogy.
The filmmaker, who earlier shared an announcement video of his film called his film ‘The Delhi Files: The Bengal Chapter’, has now changed it into ‘The Bengal Files: Right to Life’.
It marks the third installment in Agnihotri’s “Files” trilogy, after ‘Tashkent Files’ (2019) and ‘The Kashmir Files’ (2022). ‘The Bengal files: Right to Life’ is based on events like Direct Action Day and Nokhali riots. Agnihotri described these events as a “Hindu massacre” and its purpose was ignored this chapter of Indian history.
The film has a stellar cast, which includes Mithun Chakraborty, Anupam Kher, Darshan Kumar and Pallavi Joshi. The filmmaker filmed political drama in Mumbai instead of Kolkata, due to security concerns for his team. Earlier, the announcement video of the film showed Chakravarti in a ghostly first look, walking through a rugged appearance and an empty corridor with a white beard, reciting the preamble of the Constitution with a burnt tongue.
‘The Bengal files: Wright to Life’ is written and directed by Agnihotri and is produced by Abhishek Agarwal and Pallavi Joshi. Tej Narayan Aggarwal and IM Buddha are a part of the trilogy of the film Vivek’s files presented by the Productions which includes Kashmir files and Teshant files.
In a recent interview with Bharat Today, Agnihotri said that his upcoming film would attract a lot of criticisms, but it would not stop him from calling him ‘truth’.
‘The Bengal Files: Right to Life’ is scheduled for dramatic release on 5 September 2025.
