Visit Lucknow’s Rumi Darwaza and other historical gems like Taapsee Pannu

Looks like Lucknow has given Taapsee Pannu and her “Haseen Dilrubas” to visit the city of Nawabs. The actress is gearing up for the release of her film Then came Haseen DilrubaCurrently, she is on a promotional tour in Lucknow along with her co-stars Vikrant Massey, Sunny Kaushal and Jimmy Shergill. She shared a series of pictures on Instagram and wrote, “Smile, Yeh Haseen Dillruba Lucknow Mein Hain.” In the first picture, the cast posed in front of the backdrop of Rumi Darwaza, a popular historical site known for its charming Awadhi architecture. They also had a fun ride on an e-rickshaw at the place. Looks like the stars are having the best time in Lucknow.

Bada Imambara

Tourists visit the Bada Imambara to see the mind-boggling labyrinth, locally known as Bhulbhulaiya. It is said to be the largest building in the world that does not have the support of a beam. It is a great example of Mughal design and engineering. The mosque was constructed without the use of metal or wood. You can also see the tomb of Nawab Asaf-ud-Daula.

Dilkusha Kothi

Built in the English Baroque architectural style, Dilkusha Kothi used to be a hunting lodge and the summer retreat of the Nawabs. Now, only the carved walls and a few minarets are left in the building. You can take a stroll amidst the greenery and enjoy the pristine beauty of the place.

Marine Drive

Named after Mumbai's iconic Marine Drive, this place offers visitors a beautiful strip of road near the Gomti River. It is a major hangout spot for the youth. You can either participate in cycling and jogging or relax on the benches.

Rumi Gate

Rumi Darwaza is also known as Turkish Gate as it is inspired by Bab-e-Humayun Gateway of Turkey. The busy and crowded streets on both sides pass through the arch of Rumi Darwaza where you can click some beautiful pictures.

Hazratganj Market

Visit the Hazratganj Market for a great shopping experience. Built in Victorian style, this area houses shopping complexes, cafes, showrooms, theatres and other businesses. You will also find authentic Lucknow chikankari items, handloom emporiums and Gujjari here.
