Telugu actor Vishnu Manchu and his team recently set out on a pilgrimage to Kedarnath and Badrinath to seek blessings for his upcoming film Kannappa. The film is based on the story of a man named Kannappa, who was a staunch devotee of the Hindu god Shiva.

Vishnu Manchu shared a video from the pilgrimage and wrote in the caption that he made his debut 12 Jyotirling Yatra With Kedarnath. Sharing the video, the actor wrote, “Started the journey of 12 Jyotirlingas. First went to visit the holy #Kedarnath. Prayed for #Kannaappa and further journey.”

Vishnu Manchu, Kannappa director Mukesh Kumar Singh, producer and Manchu’s father Mohan Babu and actor Arpit Ranka were part of the pilgrimage. An Instagram post on the film’s official page read in the caption, “Seeking blessings for an epic story! @VishnuManchu and Team Kannappa’s sacred journey to #Kedarnath and #Badrinath. #HarHarMahadev.”

Kedarnath and Badrinath temples hold immense cultural and religious significance in Hinduism, each being one of the Char Dham pilgrimage sites. Both Kedarnath and Badrinath attract millions of pilgrims every year. A spiritual journey to these temples is often considered a path to salvation and these temples are located in the Garhwal region of Uttarakhand.

Regarding Kannappa, the teaser of the film was released in June 2024. It featured stunning visuals and action sequences with Vishnu Manchu in the lead. The teaser also featured Mohanlal, Prabhas and Akshay Kumar.

The Kannappa team had earlier expressed their desire to release the film theatrically in December 2024; However, there is no confirmation of this.

Directed by Mukesh Kumar Singh, Kannappa features an ensemble cast and stars Vishnu Manchu in the lead role. Prabhas, Kajal Aggarwal and Akshay Kumar have cameos in the film.
