There is hardly any foodie who does not love eating momos. Be it sitting with classmates in the college canteen, going on a long drive or a casual evening out with friends, momos always find their way into our foodie scenes. In the current age of food experimentation, we have seen different versions of this delight. There have been many fusions, from pineapple momos to momo pizzas and crazy viral fire momos. Now, a video doing the rounds shows a desi version of this fast food option from the streets of Uttar Pradesh.
The clip features a healthier option with an outer layer made of wheat and a filling made from gram dal. It starts with adding pre-soaked chickpeas to a mixer jar. Then, few green chillies, cumin, coriander, other spices and water are added to the jar. Everything is mixed well to make a mixture. Next, wheat dough is taken, and small balls are made. After flattening the balls, the mixture is stuffed inside and sealed to form a dumpling. Dumplings are cooked in the sun and served with sauce. Take a look at the full video below:

Needless to say, people were quick to write the name of this dish in the comments. One user wrote, “Isko fara kahete hai hamare gaon mein(In our village it is called Fara.)” Another added, “Lucknow mein use fara ke bhakose bola jata hai.
