When Akansha Ranjan Kapoor signed for the village Chikitsley, he did not expect that he would expect the role to be pushed to a large extent from his comfort field. To bring authenticity to her character, the actress had to master something that she always postponed, riding a scooty.
Set in The Hartland of India, the village Chikitsley Prime Video has an upcoming slices-off-life series that highlights the rural healthcare system. On the show, Akansha, a young doctor in a remote village, Dr. Gargi played the role. But to really become a gargie, he had to do more than understanding the character; He was physically riding him, scooty and all.
Akansha remembered that during his first meeting with director Rahul Pandey, she carelessly asked if she knew how to ride a two -wheeler. When he said no, his quick response was to learn it. First, he felt that he was not serious. But when she jokingly warned that if she did not learn, she could lose the show, the comment became different. It felt like a challenge.
Riding a scooty may seem simple for many, but for Akansha, who never rode a bicycle, it felt like a big jump. She was always afraid of two-wheelers and did not portray herself on one, let it ride on camera alone. But instead of going away, he decided to embrace the fear.
For a month, he practiced riding, gradually created confidence to handle Scooty on his own. Even during filming, when the team brought a body double to shoot the scene, he insisted on doing it himself. He spent weeks in preparation for that moment and was not going to take anyone else to take his place.
The scene took hours to shoot, but Akansha enjoyed every bit. It turned out to be one of the most satisfactory parts of his experience on the set. The actress feels proud that she beats a long -held fear for the role and now has a new skill that she would never have learned.
Directed by Rahul Pandey and made by Deepak Kumar Mishra, village Chikitsley is also Amol Parshar and Vinay Pathak. This series Dr. Prabha follows the story, who is a doctor in the city, who takes over as a primary health center in Bhatkandi village. Akansha has played an important role with Anandeshwar Dwivedi, Akash Makhija and Garima Vikrant Singh.
The show will premiere on Prime Video on 9 May.
