This rapid increase in viewership has raised questions among social media users, with some speculating whether the numbers were inflated by automated bots rather than real fans. YouTube responded to these claims and explained the criteria for validating views.

The debate began when an Others soon joined in and sought clarification from YouTube about the authenticity of the engagement metrics.

YouTube responded to the speculation via its official support channel, outlining the platform’s measures to validate interactions on videos. Team YouTube said, “We have a system in place to verify engagement metrics (likes, views, subscriptions) if they are from a legitimate traffic source. View numbers may be slow or steady as we verify they are genuine (from humans, not computer programs) (sic).”

Amidst the conversation, another fan suggested that the video might have initially been flagged for political content due to its link to Vijay’s political ambitions. The fan wrote, ‘Youtube has flagged #Talapattikatcheri as a campaign video for Mr. Vijay and TVK, so after reviewing videos not related to politics Google Ads policy has blocked the number of views, the actual count started reflecting last night.’

YouTube responded by clarifying its stance, “To maintain a fair and positive experience on YouTube, we have systems in place that verify whether views are legitimate and should be counted!” The company indicated that any interruption or sudden change in view count is a result of standard security measures.
