In Mirzapur 2, Verma played twin brothers Bharat and Shatrughan. He spoke about their different personalities: “Bharat is responsible, he has the entire business on his head. He is an elder brother, so it is important to be sensible. Shatrughan is a free bird. The love that he does not get from his loved ones, he searches for it in the world. But the thing is, this is Mirzapur, and here people are just looking for an opportunity to take advantage of themselves. (Bharat is responsible, the entire business is on his shoulders. As an elder brother, he needs to show understanding. Shatrughan is a free bird. He searches for the love he did not get from his loved ones in the world. But you see, this is Mirzapur and here people always look for opportunities for their own benefit.)

The actor elaborated on the ups and downs and struggles his character faced, and hinted at a significant change. “Bade and Dadda understood a lot, not to do the business of barfi. But this love and the race to prove oneself, drowned me. I thought Dadda would be happy, he would consider me capable but… the mistake that Chote made was unforgivable. I didn’t want it but the circumstances became such that I had to pick up the gun. And then- whether Vijay’s character is Chote or Bade this time, only time will tell, but I am sure that it will win your heart,” the ‘Murder Mubarak’ actor wrote.
