Vijay Sethupathi, one of the latest additions of Star Kids for Kollywood, is Surya, who will make his debut with the upcoming film Phoenix. The Tamil Sports Action Drama is directed by All Arasu and they also have Waralaxmi Sarathkumar and Sampath Raw in the lead roles.

Recently, the young actor revealed the physical change for his first film, especially since it includes high-octane physical stunts.

Surya talks about being overweight before Phoenix

Talking with Zoom, the debutant actor revealed that he used to use about 120 kg before Phoenix and was required to shed extra kilos and play a lean body. As a result, Surya took 1.5 years to return to shape.

He explained, “Before the film began, my weight was about 120 kg. It took me one and a half years to lose weight. In the process of losing my weight, I learned MMA, which is the original of the film.”

Surya cut oil and sugar for her change

In the same revelation, Surya expressed that, in addition to being trained in MMA, he also had to make some changes in his dietary plans, including considerable cuts in sugar and oil intake.

Star Kid said that it was extremely difficult for him to follow this rule earlier; However, he later became accustomed to it, and things became easier for him.

Surya recalls how he made his first film

Moving forward in the interview, Surya also shared how she offered her first film. The young boy remembered his father, Vijay Sethupathi on the set of his film Jawan, in which he was seen by director Anal Arasu.

Surya said, “Anal Arsu sir saw me and he told my father about the story of Phoenix. He said,” I want to do a film with Suriya. Is this okay for you, sir? ” And my father said that he wishes.

For Anward, Phoenix will kill the larger screen on July 4, 2025.
