Vijay Sethupathi is gearing up for the release of his film Viduthalai Part 2 directed by Vetrimaaran. Ahead of the film’s release on December 20, 2024, the actor was seen giving a rather cautious answer when asked about the response to Thalapathy Vijay’s The Goat and Suriya starrer Kanguva in the Telugu states.
In an interview with The Great Andhra, Vijay Sethupathi was asked how big films like GOAT and Kanguva had a bad impact on the Telugu box office. In his reaction, the Vikram actor said, “When I come to promote my film, why should I talk about all this? Why should we talk about this?”
“People have trolled me before also. Every person doing business hopes to get success in it. Whether it is a hit or a flop, people invest in it in the hope that it will be successful. Even now, before releasing a film, we show it to people. “Every film, even my flops, we show it to people before release to understand the consensus,” the actor said.
The actor was seen in the chat as his film Viduthalai Part 2, also starring Soori in the lead role, is just days away from release. The film, which is the sequel to the 2023 film Viduthalai Part 1, stars Vijay as the leader of an extremist political party.
The first installment of the film revolves around a train derailment in 1987, which leads the police to suspect the leader of an extremist political group. As the investigation progresses, a newly appointed police constable finds himself torn between his duty and moral conscience, and caught in a conflict of interest.
The sequel will expand the story and explore a world filled with crime, unearthing many truths. The past life of the extremist leader will also be showcased in it.
Apart from Vijay and Suri, the film also stars Bhavani Sri, Gautham Vasudev Menon, Rajeev Menon, Ilavarasu, Balaji Sakthivel, Saravana Subbiah and many others who are reprising their roles for the first time. Additionally, Manju Warrier, Kishore, Anurag Kashyap and Bose Venkat also play lead roles.
