Vijay Raj was dropped from ‘Son of Sardaar 2’ due to alleged misbehavior, actor reacts
Actor Vijay Raj has been removed from ‘Son of Sardaar 2’ due to allegations of misconduct. He has denied this and given a different reason for his removal.

Actor Vijay Raaz, who was a part of Ajay Devgn’s film ‘Son of Sardaar 2’, has reportedly been dropped from the film. The shooting is currently going on in the United Kingdom. Reportedly, the actor misbehaved on the sets of the film. On the other hand, Vijay denied these claims and said that he was dropped from the film because he did not greet Ajay on the sets of the film.
Ajay Devgn recently announced that he has begun shooting for ‘Son of Sardaar 2’. Meanwhile, a report has suggested that Vijay Raj, who played a key role in the film, has been removed. The film’s co-producer Kumar Mangat Pathak has confirmed this. Pinkvilla and said, “Yes, it is true that we have removed Vijay Raj from the film because of his behaviour on the set. He demanded a bigger room, vanity van and even charged us more for the spot boy. In fact, his spot boy was paid Rs 20,000 per night which is more than any big actor. The UK is an expensive place, and while shooting, everyone got standard rooms, but he demanded premium suites.”
He further added, “When we tried to explain the cost scenario to him, he refused to understand and spoke rudely. His constant reply was, ‘You people contacted me, I did not come forward to ask for work‘ (You guys approached me. When did I come to you asking for work?). While we tried to meet all his demands, his behaviour kept getting worse as his demands were never-ending. He even started demanding two cars for the movement of his staff of 3 people. How can we do that? When the EP refused, he behaved rudely with the EP (Executive Producer). After all the discussions, we decided to remove him from the film.”
However, Vijay Raaz had a different story to tell. He told the same portal, “I reached the location well in time for the trial. I got into the van and Ravi Kishan came to meet me. EP Ashish and producer Kumar Mangat came to meet me, followed by director Vijay Arora. I got out of the van and saw Ajay Devgn standing around 25 metres away. I didn’t go to greet him as he was busy and I kept talking to my friends. 25 minutes later, Mr Kumar Mangat came to me and said, ‘You leave the movie, we are taking you out‘ (You have been removed from the film). The only misbehaviour on my part is that I did not greet Mr Ajay Devgn. I did not even meet the crew, and these are the only people I interacted with. I was removed from the film 30 minutes after reaching the set, because I did not greet Ajay Devgn. These are powerful people, and there is no question of misbehaviour.”
On this, Pathak said, “Ajay Devgan is not a person who waits to be greeted by people. He always likes to be surrounded by creative people and treats everyone with respect. The story of Ajay Devgan being removed for not greeting is false. We have lost at least two crores due to the removal of Vijay Raj from the film and we will not take such a step for small things. His behavior was a big matter of concern and there is no place for disrespect on the sets of our film, because we work like a family.”
He further added, “He constantly told all our EPs and even me that he doesn’t need to do Son of Sardaar 2, and that he is doing it just because we approached him. He kept demanding bigger rooms even though he knew that the rooms in the UK cost a lot. He refused to cooperate. His attitude is a problem and even we didn’t want to be associated with a person with such a mindset.”
When asked about his demand for a room, Vijay said, “I was asked to stay in a small room with no space to move around. I do yoga in the morning and I needed some space in the room. I have been in the industry for 26 years, can’t I ask for this?”
However, Mangat said that he is happy with the decision to remove Vijay Raaz from the film. He said, ‘Even I and the other actors stayed in the same room as him, which cost Rs 45,000 per night and it was one of the best hotels, it was quite big. There is no place for unprofessional behaviour here. It is a good thing that we removed him before the shoot started, because his presence and behaviour could have created a lot of problems on the set. Ajay Devgn has worked with many senior actors and such problems never happened. Yes, I went to meet him (Vijay) in the vanity van on the day of the shoot, but the demand he made there was the last nail in the coffin. He asked us for a vanity like Ajay Devgn. As I said earlier, the demands never ended and after discussing with Ajay, I removed him from the film. We did not remove him for not greeting Ajay Devgn, we have removed him for unreasonable demands and misbehaving with the crew. Now he has even refused to return the advance amount he had taken.”
Meanwhile, Mangat confirmed that Sanjay Mishra has replaced Vijay Raaz in the film.
The first installment ‘Son of Sardaar’ featured Ajay Devgn, Sonakshi Sinha and Sanjay Dutt in the lead roles. The film was released in 2012. Ajay Devgn will reprise his role, but according to reports, Sanjay has been replaced by Ravi Kishan. It is reported that Mrunal Thakur has been cast in the lead role in the film.
