Vijay Devarakonda refused an opportunity to work in Kubera. here’s why
Dhanush and Nagarjuna’s ‘Kubera’, directed by Sekhar Kammula, perform well in theaters. Prior to Dhanush, director Sekhar Kamula offered the role to Vijay Devarakonda.

In short
- Vijay Devarakonda was first offered the lead in Kubera
- He rejected that the audience cannot accept him as a beggar
- Later, it went to the bow and was widely appreciated
Before Dhanush stepped into the rugged shoes of ‘Kubera’s’ central character, Dev’s rugged shoes, the role was originally given to another South star – Vijay Devarakonda. India specifically learned today that the actor politely rejected the film, worrying that the audience could play the role of a beggar with him.
A source close to Vikas told India today, “Vijay was the first actor to contact the producers. He was willing to cast someone with a large appeal, and Vijay used to fit the bill completely. But he had reservation as to how his main spectators would understand the character.”
The film directed by the National Award winner Sekhar Kamula discovers the gritty underworld through the eyes of a person growing from the streets – literally. This character spends an important part of the story living as a beggar, the way a dramatic change from life roles is known for victory.
“He did not want to risk separating his fan base,” the source said. “Vijay is extremely aware of his image, and he realized that viewers could reject his role. A wrong, powerless role at this point in his career felt like a misfit for him.” Vijay first worked with Sekhar in ‘Life is Beautiful’. He did a cameo in the film.

Finally, the role descended with the Dhanush, which is widely appreciated for their powerful and immersive performances.
‘Kubera’, which was released on 20 June, opened for strong reviews and left a concrete impression at the box office, with a speed of over Rs 125 crore worldwide. As the film continues to grow, the decision of casting works in the same way as it should be.
