Vignesh Shivan deactivates X account amid Nayanthara-Dhanush controversy

Filmmaker Vignesh Shivan has deactivated his X account amid actor Dhanush’s legal dispute with his wife Nayanthara. His Instagram account remains active.

Filmmaker Vignesh Shivan has deactivated his X account amid actor Dhanush’s legal battle with his wife Nayanthara. Her Instagram account with the name ‘WikiOfficial’ still exists.

Vignesh Shivan was moderately active on X. He has not shared any statement explaining the reason behind this move.

After Dhanush, on November 20, Nayanthara wrote an open letter to Dhanush. Accused of unauthorized use of Naanum Rowdy Dhaan clip in Netflix documentaryDhanush, on behalf of his production house Wunderbar Films Pvt Ltd, has filed a case against Nayanthara, Vignesh Shivan, his production house Rowdy Pictures Pvt Ltd and two others in this matter.

Nayanthara’s lawyer addressed the legal notice saying that there was no copyright infringement. Rahul Dhawan, managing partner of Lex Chambers and legal representative of Nayanthara, Vignesh and their production company Rowdy Pictures Pvt Ltd, clarified that the footage in question comes from a personal collection and is not behind-the-scenes material from the film.

“Our response is that there is no infringement or violation because what we used in the docu-series is not part of the behind the scenes (from the film). It is part of the personal library. Therefore, it is not a violation. is”, quoted Hindustan TimesThe next hearing in Madras High Court is expected to be held on Monday 2 December.

The Ryan actor’s legal team has issued a statement demanding that Nayanthara remove the alleged infringing content within 24 hours. They warned that failure to comply could lead to legal action, including a potential Rs 10 crore damages claim against Nayanthara and Netflix India.
