One of the most prestigious restaurants in Bengaluru, Vidyarthi Bhavan recently caught the eyeball online with its announcement about starting dine-in reservation. The installation began in 1943 as a joint of a humble student’s dinner and became one of the popular places for South Indian fare in the city. As a result, customers often face long wait to secure a seat in the restaurant. To compete with this “trouble”, students are now allowing advance reservation for tables. Its official X handle shared a number for the same and instructed the guests to call them on the day they are planning to travel.

There are two stages of the reservation process. Customers need to call first and take a token number for their booking. When they reach the restaurant, they have to collect their token receipt at the reservation/parcel counter. The restaurant has clarified that all its tables will not be available for reservation. The declaration notes stated, “We allocate 50% of our seats for advance reservation and the remaining 50% for walk-in. While walk-in is always welcome, the waiting time may be long on the weekend,” the announcement. “

Some X were not convinced by user systems. Some felt that a digital process would be a better option for reservation. Read some reactions below:
This is a great system, but it is easy if it is digital. In Bangalore, there are lots of vendors that can create a reliable reservation system that can be done through the phone.

Not a good idea.
What if I order 6 seats and do not turn on?
Or will I change after 20 minutes and blame the parking?@Arunadiga ಅವರೇ – It is not appropriate for those who are waiting until you take advance and adjust to the billing. Especially old people like me who make impropt plans

Earlier, the popular collisionist Shivmani went viral on social media in the post of Vidyarthi Bhavan. When the composer visited the restaurant last year, he performed a improvised music number in the kitchen. He was seen using the Dosa station and chutney cup for his drum. He gradually increased the speed of the beats and also splashed the water on the hot griddle to create a special sound effect. Click here to read the full story.
