Viduthalai Part 2, directed by Tamil actor Vijay Sethupathi, which was released in Tamil and Telugu on December 20, 2024, is now available to stream online. Directed by acclaimed filmmaker Vetri Maran, the film is the sequel to the 2023 hit film Viduthalai.

Viduthalai Part 2, also starring Manju Warrier, Suri, Gautham Vasudev, Rajiv Menon and Anurag Kashyap, premiered on Prime Video on Sunday. The first installment of the film is also available on the platform.

Upon release, Viduthalai Part 2 received a good response from the audience. Actor Dhanush also praised the film. He called it “raw, entertaining and engaging” and wrote on

An It’s the climax.”

Viduthalai Part 2, part of a two-part adaptation of Jeyamohan’s short story Thunaivan, delves into the intense conflict between a police constable and the leader of a separatist group.

India Today has given the film a 3-star rating. Part of the review reads, “Viduthalai Part 2, directed by Vetri Maran, is strong in its content. In short, it serves as a handbook to communism. The filmmaker simplifies the concept and makes it as Through Viduthalai 2, he asks the right questions and forces people to think about who is right and what is right.”

Speaking about the OTT release of his film, Vijay Sethupathi said in a statement, “I hope audiences globally can feel the same emotional and ideological resonance that we experienced during its making when Part 1 And this story will probably be streamed on Prime Video. A simple hero, but his story of perseverance and courage is worth seeing for the world.”

Viduthalai Part 2, along with Part 1, was screened at the International Film Festival Rotterdam. The films received a standing ovation at the screening.
