Veteran filmmaker Vidhu Vinod Chopra has revealed that sequels to two of his most favorite films, 3 Idiots and Munna Bhai, are officially in development. talking to Dainik BhaskarChopra confirmed that he is currently writing scripts for 2 Idiots and Munna Bhai 3 as well as several other ambitious projects.
“I am writing both 2 Idiots and Munna Bhai 3. Also, I am trying to make a film for children. The title of the film has not been decided yet. Chopra said, I am also writing a horror comedy and it is very interesting.
The filmmaker stressed the importance of thorough preparation, stressing that these projects are still in their early stages. “First we will write for 1-2 years, then we should make it. I think there is a possibility of 2 Idiots and Munna Bhai 3 soon.
The original 3 Idiots, directed by Rajkumar Hirani and starring Aamir Khan, R Madhavan and Sharman Joshi, became a cultural phenomenon upon its release in 2009. Similarly, the Munna Bhai series starring Sanjay Dutt and Arshad Warsi in lead roles is also in production. A fan favorite since its debut in 2003.
