Video: Tesla car flipped 7 times after the accident, but all passengers survived

Tesla CEO Elon Musk has reacted to a video of a horrific accident involving his company’s Model Y car. The footage shared on X shows the electric SUV flipping several times before landing flat on its side. Miraculously, all passengers survived without serious injuries.

“Safety is our primary design goal,” the billionaire wrote while reposting the video.

A user wrote below the video, “So I bought a Tesla car for my wife. It’s a bit more expensive than some sedans but it makes up the difference in fuel economy and it’s the safest car I could have gotten!”

Another user commented, “We love it, you care so much about your customers and you keep improving Tesla safety with FSD.”

Mr Musk’s reaction comes after a recent accident in Orange County, California, where a Tesla driver was reportedly driving at a high speed and crashed, causing the vehicle to veer into oncoming traffic, reports KTLA News.

Three people, including the Tesla driver, were hospitalized; their conditions were not immediately known.

Witnesses said the Tesla driver was driving at about 100 mph. The accident involved six vehicles, two of which overturned and trapped people. First responders pulled out the victims, including the Tesla driver, and rushed them to the hospital.

An eyewitness waiting at the red light reported the car was coming at “100 mph”.

“She hit the cars right next to me. I don’t know how she missed me,” the witness said, insisting that the Tesla driver was responsible for the accident.

One employee heard the tires screech and saw the accident happen. Recalling the “scary” experience, she said, “Cars were flipping right outside the window, and it takes you out of reality a little bit.”

Police are investigating the cause of the crash and say alcohol or drugs may have been a factor.
