The Bahujan Samaj Party (BSP) has demanded a CBI probe into the murder of party’s Tamil Nadu chief K Armstrong. On Saturday, several BSP workers protested outside the Rajiv Gandhi Hospital, where Armstrong’s post-mortem was conducted, and demanded a CBI probe. Meanwhile, BSP chief Mayawati has appealed to workers to “maintain peace” and asked the Tamil Nadu government to take strict action against the culprits. Calling it an “extremely sad and worrying incident”, Mayawati said she plans to visit Chennai on Sunday to pay tribute to Armstrong and meet his family members.

K Annamalai on the murder of BSP leader in Tamil Nadu: ‘Law and order has collapsed’

Bahujan Samaj Party (BSP) Tamil Nadu president Armstrong was allegedly murdered by six unidentified men near his residence in Chennai’s Perambur area on Friday. Initial reports claimed that a group of unidentified bike-borne men attacked Armstrong with knives, leaving him seriously injured on the road. According to the police, the motive behind the murder is not clear at the moment. Speaking to India Today TV after the incident, Tamil Nadu BJP chief K Annamalai said, “If this is not an example of deteriorating law and order in the state, I don’t know what other examples people can give…”
