Actor Vicky Kaushal recently agreed with ‘Tauba Tauba’ choreographer Bosco Martis, saying that people working behind the camera should get as much credit as those working in front of it. Being the son of a technician himself (his father is noted Bollywood stunt director Sham Kaushal), Vicky said that it takes an army to make a film, and if it becomes a hit, the credit doesn’t go to just one person.

Talking about the love and appreciation he received from fans for his song ‘Bad News’ ‘Tauba Tauba’, Vicky told IndiaToday.in, “I didn’t bring that step from home, it was given to me, Bosco sir gave it to me. (The key step was not something I brought from home; it was taught to me by Bosco Sir).”

‘Tauba Tauba’ choreographer Bosco Martis, in an interview with us said that he is happy with the popularity of the song and Vicky’s dance, but he feels that it is a ‘weird’ song. It’s important to respect the choreographers too, Just like Madhuri Dixit and Saroj Khan were honoured, he emphasised that the choreographer deserves recognition for creating the atmosphere and style that contributed to the song’s success.

Vicky “absolutely” agrees with Bosco because her father Sham Kaushal also served as the stunt director. He said, “Every person standing behind the camera is the real hero who makes whatever is happening in front of the camera happen. Because we are in front of the camera, He started that-that, or whatever shoes and slippers are to be worn, they are worn by us only. (Because we are in front of the camera, the initial praise or criticism, whatever it is, falls on us). But they are really heroes. It takes an army, the effort of 300 people to make a song, a film or anything. So, they should be praised just as much, if not more. I agree 100 per cent (with what Bosco said).”

The National Award-winning actor emphasised the importance of the happiness and energy of the crew behind the camera in making a good film. “Also, it is very important that the crew behind the camera is happy while working on a film. They put energy into that work. Sometimes you feel that you have made a good film, but it is because of the energy of these people, their blessings. It depends on whether everyone enjoyed working on the film or not. It is a team effort. No film runs on the efforts of just one person. It takes a team to make a film successful.”

Vicky’s Bad Newz co-star Ammy Virk agreed, saying that films where the technical staff is not respected and paid well do not succeed.

“The hardest job is of the spotboys, editors and lighting crew. They have to reach two hours early and they get the most scolding. But I have seen that films where these people are not paid never become successful. These people work the hardest. We all should love and respect them,” the Punjabi star lamented.

Recently, several crew members of Vashu Bhagnani’s production company Pooja Entertainment, whose last film was Akshay Kumar’s Bade Miyan Chote Miyan, auditioned for a film. He accused the production house of not paying his dues.

Vicky Kaushal and Ammy Virk’s Bad Newz, which also stars Tripti Dimri, will release in theatres on July 19. Directed by Anand Tiwari, the film is bankrolled by Karan Johar’s Dharma Productions.
