Vicky Kaushal is earning praise for his role in the historic drama Chhava, which is close to acquiring a milestone of Rs 400 crore in India. Meanwhile, at an event in Mumbai, the actor recited a poem in Marathi, which surprised singer Asha Bhosle.

Vicky Kaushal, who is enjoying the success of his latest film, Chhawa, attended an event in Mumbai, where he recited a Marathi poetry. That moment has gone viral with the Marathi language Gaurav Dey event. Vicky shared a clip on social media, thanked Raj Thackeray, and also shared the response of singer Asha Bhosle for the same.
On his Instagram, Vicky thanked the Government of Maharashtra for inviting him. He said, “Asha Maam was sitting there. She looked at me with apprehension and asked, ‘Are you going to recite the poem too?’ I said yes.’ She was shocked and asked, ‘In Marathi?’ I replied, ‘Yes.’ Asha Mam said, “Tauba tauba.”
He continued, “This is very important for me to be present here. For a non-Marathi person who was born in Maharashtra, who was educated in Maharashtra, who works in Maharashtra, is at this level today, that even in Shivaji Park. On the occasion of Marathi Bhu-Gaurav Diva, it is a great honor for me.”

Based on Shivaji Sawant’s Marathi novel, Chhawa depicts the life of Maratha ruler Chhatrapati Sambhaji Maharaj, painted by Vicky Kaushal. In the film, Aksshay Khanna also starred Rashmika Mandanna, Divya Dutta and Diana Penty as Mughal Emperor Aurangzeb in lead roles.
Chhawa is ready to release in Telugu, as declared by Madock Films, with Vicky a poster as Chhatrapati Sambhaji Maharaj. The Telugu version will be distributed by the Gita Arts and will hit theaters on 7 March.
